Brian Chavez graduated from Harvard University in 1993 and from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 1996, becoming a certified attorney on November 1, 1996. He returned to Odessa to practice with his dad (a United States Army veteran, former police officer, and former Ector County district attorney).
